FVRD Electoral Area G · 2026

A Stronger Voice
for Area G

Let's talk about Area G — flood protection, agriculture, roads, water, property rights, local business and responsible development.

I believe Area G deserves a Director who will show up, listen, ask difficult questions and stand up for the people who live, farm and do business here.

Why I'm Running

Residents First.

I want to hear what matters to you — your family, your farm or your business. Area G is made up of distinct rural communities, but many of our concerns are shared: flood protection, agriculture, roads, water, property rights, local business and responsible development.

Practical decisions. Responsible growth. A strong voice for our rural communities. Government should work with residents — not against them.

Our Communities. Our Priorities.

Six priorities for a stronger Area G

Distinct communities. Shared concerns. One strong voice.

Flood Protection

Make flood protection a priority for all our communities.

  • Fight for senior-government investment in dikes, pumps, drainage and erosion protection
  • Address Deroche Creek flood risks and bank stabilization
  • Make Nicomen Island dikes, pump stations and drainage a priority — with the Improvement District

Protect Our Farmers

Defend productive agriculture across Area G.

  • Reduce unnecessary regulatory obstacles facing working farms
  • Protect agriculture and productive farmland from flooding
  • Support our schools and community organizations

Safe Rural Roads

Better-maintained roads for every resident, farm and business.

  • Advocate to the Province for maintenance, drainage, intersections, shoulders and signage
  • Improve rural road safety and timely repairs
  • Improve road access and emergency planning

Water Systems

Safe, reliable and affordable community water.

  • Advocate for safe, reliable and affordable community water infrastructure
  • Maintain reliable community water for Deroche and beyond
  • Address water and infrastructure concerns in the first 100 days

Local Business

An Area G where rural enterprise can succeed.

  • Support responsible agriculture, tourism, trades and home businesses
  • Support local businesses and rural enterprise in Dewdney and beyond
  • Restore and protect Hatzic Lake

Property Rights & Red Tape

Fair, practical, common-sense regulation.

  • Defend the responsible use and enjoyment of private property
  • Push for clearer, faster and more predictable FVRD permitting
  • Soil-deposit and land-alteration rules that protect communities — without unnecessary cost, delay or bureaucracy

My First 100 Days

I put Area G residents first.

Before major decisions affecting our communities, I listen to the people directly affected — and make Area G's interests my priority at the FVRD Board.

01

Listen

Hold community meetings in Deroche, Dewdney, Nicomen Island and Hatzic Island.

02

Business & Farming

Examine Area G spending, taxation, permitting and major infrastructure priorities. Establish regular dialogue with farmers, businesses and property owners about regulations and red tape.

03

Flood Protection

Meet with improvement districts, FVRD staff and senior governments to advance priority flood-protection work. Implement an annual weed-control program.

04

Report Back

Publish an Area G priorities report — what I heard, what actions have been taken, and what still needs to be done.

Help Build a Stronger Area G

Voices from our community

"I support Peter because he understands that farming is both a way of life and a business. He listens, he understands the pressures farmers face, and I believe he'll bring common sense and a strong voice for agriculture to our Area G & the FVRD."
Local Dairy Farmer & Land Owner, Area G
"Peter understands that strong local businesses and strong communities go hand in hand. He listens, gets involved and will bring a practical, common-sense voice to the FVRD. That's why we support Peter for Area G."
David Lisiecki — Tow of the Day, Area G Resident & Business Operator
